You can log in to your account to get your balance and other information or to make transactions. Online account access offers you the convenience of handling your account after normal business hours when our associates are not available.
This website provides account look-up and transaction capabilities for the following types of accounts:
- Individual and jointly registered accounts
- Roth, Traditional and SEP IRA accounts
- Education Savings Accounts
- UGMA/UTMA accounts

Your online transaction options are set to largely mirror the telephone transaction privileges you elected for your accounts. If you did not elect telephone transaction privileges when you established your account but want to add them now, complete an Account Services Form.
These online functions are available if you have a Homestead Funds’ regular account (individual or joint), IRA or Education Savings Account:

- Make account transactions, including adding, redeeming and exchanging shares
- Sign up to electronically receive shareholder documents such as the prospectus and annual report.
Creating a User ID
The instructions below walk you through the online process for creating a User ID and Password.
Click “Log in to Your Account” from the homepage: Then select Create User ID from the log-in page.
Confirm your identity: Entering the last four digits of your Social Security Number (or Tax Identification Number) and any one of your Homestead Funds’ account numbers (from a recent statement or trade confirmation). Also select the name of a fund included in that account position from the list.
Enter a User ID: This must be an alphanumeric entry with a minimum of eight characters and maximum of 24. At least two characters must be numbers.
Enter a Password: This must be an alphanumeric entry with a minimum of eight characters and maximum of 12. At least two characters must be numbers.
Ask and answer a security question: This will enable you to reset your password online and then create a new one if you later forget it.
When you are satisfied with your entries, click the “Submit” button. If there was a problem with your request, the Create User ID page will display again and there will be a clarification below the data entry field explaining the problem entry. Correct and resubmit.
Use these alphanumeric entries each time you log in. Be sure to keep your user ID and Password confidential. Anyone who has this information will be able to log in to your account and make transactions.
Homestead Funds has taken a number of steps to keep your personal account information secure online. For starters, we use security technology that encrypts your data when it passes over the Internet. Encryption is the translation of data into a secure code. When information is encrypted, it is essentially scrambled so that it can be decoded only by someone who has the correct key.
We store your account information on servers and mainframes protected behind firewalls. In addition, we continuously monitor the site against any unauthorized entry.
You can help to keep your account secure, too. Make sure you do not share your User ID or Password with anyone. Homestead Funds will never ask you for this information. And always keep your account records safeguarded, including shredding them when you no longer need them.
