Tax Form FAQs

Answers to some of the most common tax questions.

When will I receive my tax form?

  • Year-end tax forms are generally mailed by mid-February. You may access electronic copies of tax forms in your account online. Log in, click on “eDocuments” from the bottom of the menu on the left-hand side of the page, then change the “date range” from “7 days” to “All Available” to view a list of your available tax forms that can be downloaded in a PDF format.
  • See the mailing schedule for the IRS tax forms and other account information you can expect to receive from Homestead Funds. Copies of tax forms and statements are also available online when you log in to your account.

Does Homestead Funds create tax forms for deferred compensation accounts?

  • Cooperative deferred compensation plan accounts are established as nontaxable with Homestead Funds. This means that we will not produce a 1099-DIV or 1099-B for the cooperative for these accounts annually unless you inform us that you should receive the tax form. If your cooperative is a taxable entity and you need tax forms produced for the cooperative, you can update the tax status with Homestead Funds by completing the Deferred Compensation Account Maintenance Form.
  • Because the accounts are owned by the cooperative and established under the cooperative tax identification number, tax forms are only produced for the cooperative. Homestead Funds does not produce tax forms on deferred compensation accounts for the participant.
