WSJ: Employers Help Workers Build Household-Emergency Funds

Not being prepared for an emergency expense is the #1 challenge faced by many Americans. The Wall Street Journal recently published this article highlighting what large companies like Home Depot and SunTrust are doing to help their employees prepare for unplanned expenses. But, it’s not just Fortune 500 companies that are concerned about the impact money problems have on employee well-being and offering incentives to save. Several cooperatives have partnered with Homestead Funds to establish and fund employee-owned investment accounts through automatic payroll deduction.
